I’ve entered the wrong Email-Id and I want to change it. Is it possible?

Ans

 

Once entered and submitted no personal details can be changed; you have to register again with the correct email –Id this time.

I want to change the test center at preference -1, can it be changed now?

Ans

 

 The test centers once entered can not be changed.

My current residential address is temporary and it is likely to be shifted soon, so which address I should provide?

Ans

 

 It is advisable to furnish the permanent address, providing temporary addresses can lead to inconvenience while delivering the Interview call letters and appointment letter, if selected.

I’ve forgotten to take the print out of the registration slip, what should I do now?

Ans

 

 You can download your registration slip any time by visiting the website after furnishing either your registration number OR your Email Id as entered by you at the time of registration.

When will the admit card be sent?

Ans

 

You have to visit the web site to download the admit card by entering either your registration number OR Email Id as entered by you at the time of Online registration. Admit cards will be available for downloading from the date as mentioned in the Employment News. Admit card will not be sent by post.

If I finally get selected in NTPC, can I get the extension in joining time?

Ans

 

The training program for all the Executive Trainees will begin simultaneously in each discipline. Being a standardised program, no extension in joining period is possible.

Can I get last years question paper or sample questions?

Ans

 

NTPC does not provide last year’s question paper or sample questions, however few sample questions will be displayed in the test guidelines which would be available along with the admit card on the net.

What would be the syllabus or the areas which I should read or prepare for the test?

Ans

 

Kindly go through the "Indicative syllabus" section to view the indicative syllabus.

My final year/Semester result is not yet declared. Am I eligible to apply?

Ans

 

You may apply by providing marks obtained upto pre final year/Semester. Your final selection in NTPC is subjec to submitting final Year/Semester Marksheet and Provisional certificate by 01.08.2010. Also the aggregate marks should not be less than minimum qualifying percentage marks.

I forgot to sign across my photograph on the registration slip. What should I do?

Ans

 

Please carry any Id proof (like PAN card, Driving License, Passport etc) that bears your photograph and signature to the examination hall.

Will NTPC refund the registration amount in case my candidature is rejected due to any reason?

Ans

 

The registration amount is non refundable

Can I approach the associate banks of SBI with the pay in slip and deposit the amount there?

Ans

 

No, you have to approach the nearest SBI bank only to deposite the registration amount. No other associate bank of SBI is authorised to collect the registration amount.

I'm a final year student and 7th semester result is still not declared, what should I fill in the last cell since the online system is not accepting the form without filling the last cell?

Ans

 

You can fill up the 7th semester’s marks in the 4th cell. If 7th Semester result is not yet declared, you can wait since Website for Online registration will remain open till 22nd Mar-10. If it is unlikely that the result would be out by 22nd Mar or your institute has year system instead of semester system, than you can fill appearing and keep on filling the form, system will take the average of first three years only. Your candidature is subject to the condition that the average of all semester/years should not be less than minimum qualifying percentage as specified in the advertisement.

How would I know if my registration and Pay in Slip has been received?

I have a SGPA/CGPA system in my institute, what should I fill in marks obtained year wise?

Ans

 

Please write SGPA in the cells, system will convert the into percentage automatically.

I want to know more about the written test.

Ans

 

Written test will be of two hours duration and will have two sections. Section -I will be the technical part having 50 questions and section-II will be the aptitude part having 35 questions on Reading comprehension, Verbal/Non verbal reasoning, Numerical ability,Data Interpretation, General Awareness etc. Candidates have to show competency in both the sections. There will be negative marking of 1/4 for each wrong question.

In how many cities the test will be conducted and which are these cities?

Ans

 

The written test will be conducted in 29 cities across India. These cities are: Agartala, Bangaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Guntur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, NOIDA, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur,Vishakhapattnam and Varanasi.

  Briefly explain the selection process for the post of Executive Trainee in NTPC

Ans

 

There are 3 stages in recruitment process for the post of Executive Trainee (ET) in NTPC Viz Written test, Group Discussion and Interview. On the basis of the performance in written test, candidates are shortlisted for Group Discussion and Interview. Caniddates have to demonstrate competency in both GD and Interview separately as there is minimum cut off marks which is 40% each in GD and interview for General category candidates and 30% for reserved categories i.e. SC/ST/OBC/PWD. The weightages of written test, GD and Interview are 85%, 5% and 10% respectively.

  I am pursuing dual degree (5 year Integrated) course. Which year marks should I enter in four cells that are provided?

Ans

 

Please write marks (or SGPA) obtained for the first four years only. System will automatically calculate the percentage for these four years.However, the average percentage marks of all the 5 years should not be less than 65%.
